Aging in Place Housing is a project in Shelby, Montana, that reuses a vacant block to create age-friendly homes for seniors. The project allows seniors to stay in their community, maintain social connections, and access healthcare services while also freeing up existing single-family homes for new families. The design prioritizes accessibility, manageability, and community engagement through intentional layouts, green spaces, and amenities. Universal design principles and a central community corridor promote independent living and a sense of belonging among residents.
