This project was made in collaboration with Tinworks Art. Tinworks Art describes themselves as, “a non-profit art space in Bozeman, Montana. It is a place where contemporary art connects with the American West by weaving together its complex landscape, stories, experiences, and cultures. Tinworks makes possible art engagement in non-traditional spaces, enriching the cultural and social fabric of greater Bozeman and the Mountain West.”

The goal of this project was to develop a comprehensive plan for an empty lot recently acquired. The proposal divides the lot into three distinct strips, each designed to meet the diverse needs of an art collective.

The northernmost strip is dedicated to private spaces, featuring artist housing and creation areas.

The middle strip strikes a balance between public and private, housing business spaces such as: rentable event space, restaurant, art supply store, and administrative offices. This section aims to generate revenue for the collective.

The southernmost strip is fully public, designed for art galleries and exhibitions.

By separating the different functions into distinct areas, the proposal provides a functional and efficient space for the art collective to thrive.
